Kiewit employees are coming together to make a difference by participating in the annual Creeper Trail Ride to End Cancer (C-TREC), raising funds and awareness for rare cancer research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The event, held each year on the last weekend in July, supports research for rare cancers, which account for more than half of all cancer diagnoses. Diseases such as sarcoma, pancreatic cancer, pediatric cancers and brain cancer often receive significantly less research funding than more common cancers, limiting treatment options for patients and their families.
Kiewit’s team is inviting employees, friends and family members to join the effort by registering to walk or ride, fundraising as a team member or making a tax-deductible donation. Every dollar raised through C-TREC directly supports rare cancer research at MD Anderson.
Since being established in 2010, C-TREC has raised more than $1.75 million for rare cancer research at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Participants can choose between an 18-mile bike ride or a 5K walk along Virginia’s scenic Creeper Trail, combining teamwork, community and purpose in support of a meaningful cause.
